For those reading who may not know, iRacing time trials are single car competitions which run on the track being raced each week. You have to do a series of laps without error and it’s your average laptime that goes forward as your final result. Points are then calculated as the week goes along so that the fastest car overall gets 100 points and the slowest gets 1 point, if you are exactly between those two in time you would get 50 points.

I missed weeks four and five due to how busy I was with work. Still, I found myself in contention when I returned and managed to carry that through Week 6, 7 and 8. So during Week 9 and 10 while others were dropping their worst weeks (4 from 12 are dropped) I was able to score full weeks. I managed to get time recently to have more than one attempt at some of them. This has allowed me to have a fairly high scoring week in cars I normally struggle. So these are as things stand at time of posting:

Series Track Time Pts Div Pos Overall Pos
Skip Barber Race Series Road America 2:35.870 90 1st 7th
Spec Racer Ford Challenge Charlotte 1:23.827 39 4th 29th
NASCAR Class A Texas 30.368 54 1st 7th
NASCAR Class B (NW) Richmond 22.393 72 1st 12th
NASCAR Class C (Trucks) Texas 30.541 74 2nd 28th
Silver Crown Cup Stafford 18.514 43 1st 5th
SK Modified Series Milwaukee 30.252 70 1st 13th
Late Model Tour Phoenix 29.984 69 1st 32nd
Advanced Legends Cup Oxford Plains 17.476 86 1st 11th

I’m really pleased with my performance this week. At the moment I’m in the top-four for every division, and have the fastest time for seven of the nine I am competing in. Toughest run this week came in the Spec Racer Ford at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

So (as things stand on Thursday) as we end Week 10 I’m in first-place for every oval division now except the late model. I still don’t think I’ll take first-place for the late model as the current leader is way too good. On the roadcourse side I don’t think I’ll have a hope of a top-three in the Spec Racer, but I have moved into a strong fifth-place. The Skip Barber 2000 is a whole different matter, I’ve actually managed to move into third-place! I feel pretty confident I can hold onto it because I have a week in-hand. That’s pretty darned awesome considering that is a Division 5 championship.

Week 10 isn’t over yet, I’ll have to see how things shake out… Here they are as they stand at time of posting:

Series Pts Div Pos Overall Pos
Skip Barber Race Series (1 week behind) 427 3rd 36th
Spec Racer Ford Challenge 449 5th 27th
NASCAR Class A 330 1st 15th
NASCAR Class B (NW) 409 1st 22nd
NASCAR Class C (Trucks) 525 1st 15th
Silver Crown Cup 491 1st 9th
SK Modified Series 563 1st 20th
Late Model Tour 553 2nd 28th
Advanced Legends Cup 595 1st 15th
