For those reading who may not know, iRacing time trials are single car competitions which run on the track being raced each week. You have to do a series of laps without error and it’s your average laptime that goes forward as your final result. Points are then calculated as the week goes along so that the fastest car overall gets 100 points and the slowest gets 1 point, if you are exactly between those two in time you would get 50 points.

I missed weeks four and five due to how busy I was with work. Still, I found myself in contention when I returned and managed to carry that through Week 6, 7, 8 and 9. I managed to get most of this weeks time trials done really early, finishing them off on Saturday night prior to the NASCAR night race at Daytona starting on TV. So these are as things stand at time of posting:

Series Track Time Pts Div Pos Overall Pos
Skip Barber Race Series Laguna Seca 1:41.356 68 13th 51st
Spec Racer Ford Challenge Summit 1:23.764 79 2nd 18th
NASCAR Class A Darlington 30.044 34 1st 13th
NASCAR Class B (NW) Darlington 30.454 38 2nd 30th
NASCAR Class C (Trucks) Chicagoland 32.209 61 6th 69th
Silver Crown Cup Richmond 19.997 70 1st 7th
SK Modified Series USA 20.986 75 1st 19th
Late Model Tour South Boston 15.992 85 1st 36th
Advanced Legends Cup Charlotte 17.786 79 1st 16th

I’m pretty pleased with most of my times this week, especially the late model. I really had a tough time at Darlington and actually wasn’t going to bother but then I figured I might get more points at this track than somewhere else because of how the scoring works in the TT’s… So went for it and just set a basic laptime that is OK for my divisions. All the other TT’s were pretty easy and I just did what I needed to do.

So (as things stand on Saturday) as we end Week 9 I’m in first-place for every division now except the late model. I’m going to struggle to take first there because my main competitor is really, really fast and does many, many time trials every week. What is pretty awesome is that I’ve actually closed in a little bit on a top-three with the Spec Racer and Skip Barber cars. I never would have thought I’d be in a position to take those…

So Week 9 isn’t over yet, I’ll have to see how things shake out… Here they are as they stand at time of posting:

Series Pts Div Pos Overall Pos
Skip Barber Race Series (2 weeks behind) 334 5th 48th
Spec Racer Ford Challenge (1 week behind) 410 4th 25th
NASCAR Class A (1 week behind) 277 1st 16th
