For those reading who may not know, iRacing time trials are single car competitions which run on the track being raced each week. You have to do a series of laps without error and it’s your average laptime that goes forward as your final result. Points are then calculated as the week goes along so that the fastest car overall gets 100 points and the slowest gets 1 point, if you are exactly between those two in time you would get 50 points.

I missed weeks four and five due to how busy I was with work. Still, I found myself in contention when I returned and managed to carry that through Week 6 and into Week 7. As of Saturday afternoon (results are finalized on Monday evening) here is where I stand in this week’s results:

As you can see I did great in all the oval divisional points, again, taking 1st in every series except the Silverado, where I came in 2nd. Perhaps an even bigger achievement is what I managed to do with the Silver Crown, taking 3rd place overall! I also like the track the Skip Barber Formula 2000 is located on this week, so I think I did a pretty good job there in my TT, even though I only came in 8th place for my division.

So with the points totalled up after Week 7 I find myself in 1st place for points in all the oval series except the Late Model, where I have a pretty close fight for points and am classified 2nd. I’m also doing fairly well in two road series I run TT’s with, especially considering I am still a couple of weeks down. In any case, I’m pretty happy with some of the points leads I have. Very nice!

I’m looking forward to Week 9, it’s going to be interesting to see how the points start to adjust with people beginning to drop their worst scoring weeks.
