The Granary Burial Grounds in Boston are somewhere that I think no matter what the nationality you are, feels very special to visit. Being English, it’s very hard to actually feel a part of the history of my homeland, everything happened so long ago that really nothing is left to look at. With the United States you can take a trip to Boston and find not only the history of the United States but a history you can feel so very, very close to.

Although some of the stones in the cemetery are recently erected, the vast majority appear to be from the time when the city of Boston was founded up to when the United States was founded. Some have beautiful carvings and the atmosphere they create is amazing. This feeling, mixed with the constant shadowing provided by the very large trees, is awesome.

This gallery isn’t my best work in the Granary Burial Grounds (I will upload others when I get a chance), but it’s still worth a look, especially if you’ve never heard of the place.

The photo below has been made grayscale, had it’s balance adjusted, been cropped and had the Film Grain photoshop filter applied to create the look of an old photograph.

You can view the gallery of unedited (as they were taken) photos here.
