I made another side by side comparison between real life and iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations today with a lap around Circuit Park Zandvoort.
It was quite difficult to find an onboard lap on Youtube that I could use and after contacting the poster (who turned out to be the rights holder – woohoo) of a lap in the Corvette C6 I decided that was probably as close as I was going to get. I then asked our testing team to supply a replay of a decent lap in iRacing’s C6R and one came fairly quickly with what he described as more of a safe lap than a quick one.
Because of the fact that the driver of the real-world video was pushing a lot harder than the sim driver I had a little bit of work to do to get things to match up. As these videos are about showing the track geometry more than anything else I extended the real-world video just a little at each segment to make them match up.

I think it turned out well, the only differences really are very minor and most will be because the in-sim footage was recorded from a single car testing session while the real-world video is from race day (more trackside objects).

[..YouTube..] Kinda looks like he got held up a little from that Mustang. I’m also guessing it’s because the iRacing Corvette is the ALMS GT1 C6.R and the real-incar footage is from the Certainty Racing Team production based C6. There’s a couple spots that look sped up a little, but that one spot is pretty dramatic. Since the point of the vid is to show how accurate the iRacing version of Zandvoort is, a little sped up video doesn’t hurt just to keep the two in sync.

[..YouTube..] HiredGoonage They have allot of non-oval circuits agree with not non American cars, but the current road cars are fun like skip barber and lotus 79. And they are getting V8 super cars soon and a few aussi tracks. You should give it a go even on a month subscription you wont look back

[..YouTube..] I’d assume it’s because they race with a iRacing GT1 and have footage of a GT4 and on that part of the track its really fast and pretty bumpy so you can see that pretty much the whole part is sped up a bit
[..YouTube..] If A1 car are implemented you should have used those, because they race there aswell.what this video and the game can’t show you is the great acoustics if u sit on the grandstand during A1/euroboss/dutch supercar challenge/gt4. you can hear some cars all the time due to the sound rolling over the dunes, track is located roughly 200m from the shoreline. to bad it’s close to the town aswell limiting its “noise days”

[..YouTube..] Next year we’ll have 12 of those days. The World Series by Renault wants to take use of 3. Another 3 are reserved for the Masters of Formula 3. DTM may use another 3 but it’s not unlikely they’ll vanish completely. That leaves us with 6 days we don’t know yet. Maybe FIA GT1/2/3/4 due to connections with SRO via Dutch GT4 championship. Oh, and WTCC may but likely won’t come this year on a non noisy weekend.
[..YouTube..] Put new non-fast cars, that way we can race to the limit, like : bmw’s (from wtcc or lemans series) – Super Taiku – AE86 N2 – MX5 cup – Fun Cup – , and you should seriously consider puting the nurburgring (be sure that’s THE track if you want to increase player subscription, imagine the first real copy of the legendary green hell) as well as some notorious tracks like tsukuba – Fuji – Suzuka – Imola – HTTT Paul Ricard – the 24H le mans etc.. avoid too much open wheelers, boring in the end
