Mother’s Diet during Pregnancy Determines Child Sex? No!
If you see this story on your news today, or read this article about this “study” - you might be inclined to think that this research is actually worth the paper it’s written on.
Let me get something straight - It is not.
The study found that 56% of women who eat a certain type of diet have a certain sex child. 56%. Doesn’t 56% sound awfully close to 50%? A result of 50% would mean that food makes NO DIFFERENCE.
The fact that this study was based upon information provided by just 740 women really makes me wonder, because you are literally talking about a difference of 44 children from that 740. There is no evidence that this is related to the mother’s food intake, not unless all the women lived in the same house, had the same job, ate EXACTLY the same food, etc. The fact that it’s so close to 50% just means that really they’re being silly saying that 6% means anything.
Like many of the scientific studies that researchers, statisticians and scientists seem to get paid to produce; this study is utterly, utterly flawed.
Yet another wasted research fund…
