This video was just featured on FOX News Chicago, apparently on second approach the wind died down at the right time and the pilot made a successful landing… It is quite common for a plane to be turned a little sideways on approach though, one time coming into Chicago I remember looking out of the window during landing and found I was staring almost directly down the runway we were meant to be landing on – but the landing felt absolutely smooth.
