I’ve got that buzz right now that I get at the start of a new season, start of the playoffs or the start of the Super Bowl and it’s because of Brian Griese. I think I’d been denying my feelings, not wanting to attack Rex I hadn’t found it easy to criticize him either!
I’m really excited about Sunday… Go Bears!
Hopefully the Bears focus on our next big problem – our blocking. If there is one area that we could make a huge improvement in, by just focusing on it… blocking would be it. There is alot of strategy and skill involved in effective blocking. The Denver Broncos back in the Elway days really did a great job with guys that were not as large as other lines in the league.
The play of the offensive line is so important for a team like the Bears because :
1. Our QB’s are not mobile
2. Griese is prone to injury
3. Benson is most effective with a hole to power through, he’s not going the type of back to make alot of finesse moves.
I hope the Bears coaching staff sees the blocking as a prime area to improve in, cause it’s definitely essential to our success.
