I thought it used to be bad when I used it in 2005-2006, but that was nothing.
I have had to repost items now 5 times, not because they didn’t sell, but because Nigerian scum keep ending the auctions, using “buy it now” then saying “I am in USA, but this is a gift for my son, please post it to him in Nigeria”…
When I say: “Why don’t I post it to you AFTER you pay me, then you can post it to him yourself?” – they don’t respond.
The other day I was foolish enough to leave negative feedback for one of them, thinking that it was nice of me to warn others that this person was a scammer. The scammer quickly left me negative feedback in a silly revenge attack shortly before he lost control of the account he had “phished” from an unsuspecting eBay member… The extremely annoying thing was that once the listing was removed, once the scammers account was frozen, that negative feedback remained on my profile for three days.
So, I have learnt my lesson – fuck everyone else. I’ll protect myself. I’ll also add this message to every listing I place on eBay (just like I used to back in 2005-2006):
“I WILL NOT SHIP TO NIGERIA, I WILL NOT SELL TO A NIGERIAN, I WILL NOT BE SCAMMED BY SOMEONE FROM NIGERIA AND I DO NOT WANT ANY MESSAGES FROM A NIGERIAN. THIS ITEM WILL BE MAILED TO USA ONLY, IT WILL NOT BE MAILED TO NIGERIA. I WILL NOT BE SCAMMED – YOU ARE THIEVES!”
My laptop is now on it’s fourth relisting.
