On the Lot – Zach – Die Hardly Working

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

After Zach’s previous movies many wondered whether he could make a movie without special effects, so Zach decided to make an “anti-special effects” film with neither special effects – or props!

“Die Hardly Working” is Zach’s best movie in the competition, if he doesn’t win I’ll be very surprised.

On the Lot – Zach – Time Out

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

In the first week, Zach worked with two of the other contestants in a team, here was the result: “Time Out.”

Note: You may need to turn the volume up as the audio is a little low on this YouTube video.

On the Lot – Zach Lipovsky

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

There is a wonderful reality show on TV here in the USA called “On the Lot.” It features a number of amateur film makers (the YouTube generation), who are competing to become a Director, backed by Steven Spielberg. The best candidate, by far, is Zach Lipovsky. Over the next few posts I will feature his short movies from the show, starting with his entry video: “Film maker attacked by aliens.”

Tony Blair accepts unpaid job as Middle-East Envoy…

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

Anyway, I am delighted to see that Tony Blair has decided to take on this role. He is a decent man, whatever many may think. The UK is currently in a strong financial position to the rest of the world (the UK – USA exchange rate is testament to that), the UK is a much nicer place to live for many working class to middle class families than it was back in 1997. If Blair can make any progress at all with what is likely to be his first job; To start helping the Palestinian’s setup their political infrastructure, then it is a very, very good thing, not just because of his actions, but because he may speak on behalf of that region to the rest of the world. That region really does need a voice, but first some there need to realise voices work – bombs don’t.

eBay is worse than ever…

Tuesday, June 26th, 2007

I thought it used to be bad when I used it in 2005-2006, but that was nothing.

I have had to repost items now 5 times, not because they didn’t sell, but because Nigerian scum keep ending the auctions, using “buy it now” then saying “I am in USA, but this is a gift for my son, please post it to him in Nigeria”…

When I say: “Why don’t I post it to you AFTER you pay me, then you can post it to him yourself?” – they don’t respond.

The other day I was foolish enough to leave negative feedback for one of them, thinking that it was nice of me to warn others that this person was a scammer. The scammer quickly left me negative feedback in a silly revenge attack shortly before he lost control of the account he had “phished” from an unsuspecting eBay member… The extremely annoying thing was that once the listing was removed, once the scammers account was frozen, that negative feedback remained on my profile for three days.

So, I have learnt my lesson – fuck everyone else. I’ll protect myself. I’ll also add this message to every listing I place on eBay (just like I used to back in 2005-2006):
“I WILL NOT SHIP TO NIGERIA, I WILL NOT SELL TO A NIGERIAN, I WILL NOT BE SCAMMED BY SOMEONE FROM NIGERIA AND I DO NOT WANT ANY MESSAGES FROM A NIGERIAN. THIS ITEM WILL BE MAILED TO USA ONLY, IT WILL NOT BE MAILED TO NIGERIA. I WILL NOT BE SCAMMED – YOU ARE THIEVES!”

My laptop is now on it’s fourth relisting.

Interesting Post & Inverview from Dale Jr…

Monday, June 25th, 2007

Very interesting comments from Dale Jr after his 3rd place qualifying run this past weekend at Infineon…

“I had been practicing on the computer at VIR and in the game, you really have to be disciplined and not try to drive real hard and just try to drive smooth. That’s what I did in the test and it worked awesome.”

“No, I haven’t been to any driving schools. I’ve just been practicing on the computer a little bit.”

I am so pleased he lost this lawsuit…

Monday, June 25th, 2007

This was on the US news a lot, with everyone laughing at this silly little man who decided to file a $54M lawsuit over a pair of lost trousers.

I am very, very happy that he has lost, but I can’t help but be concerned that this man is a Judge, he decides what is right and wrong and what punishment people deserve. If this man seriously thought that this dry cleaners deserved to pay him $54M in compensation for his lost trousers, he has no place giving out punishments to anyone.

Moto Racer 3 Review

Installation:
The installation is easy enough, but you are forced to install a video codec during it. The bit that annoyed me with this codec is that I already had it installed, yet it didn’t try to find it. I also had to wait 7 or 8 minutes while it search for instances of Netscape (which I don’t have – and the game doesn’t need).

Review:
Every time you run the game you are presenting with this setup console, which allows you to change most things you would expect. I can safely say that this game comes with enough graphics and controller options to please everyone who looks at them. Unfortunately, the game is not up to the standard I would have expected in graphics for the release date…

Once the splash screen and studio logo marathon finally ends you are treated to a really nice intro sequence that shows just how many different types of two-wheeled wonders you’ll be able to ride in the game, you can view it below. The intro can be skipped in the setup options shown above.

After setting up your player name, helmet, etc (for both online and offline usage), you are taken to the main menu where you select whether you want to race in multiplayer, or solo-play. The menu system has some innovative features and I actually quite like it… It may be different but, it still makes sense (unlike a lot of “innovations”).

You move into the next menu now, where you select the type of racing, the bike you’re going to ride and lastly the type of race/event you want to take part in. This includes circuit racing (similar to Moto GP), motocross and street racing, every race type you could want!

The racing game itself is decent, the graphics and “ok” and the game is worth buying if you’re a bike nut, but for the average guy, or someone who isn’t into two-wheels – it’s not worth the money. The physics are horribly simple and easy to learn the flaws of and the sound seems just plain weird. Unfortunately I have to be pretty offensive to the developers here and say that really – that’s all there is to say about their game…
