Check out this article from 1974 where scientists are saying that there is every sign that the world was entering another Ice Age, it’s strangely compelling to read, especially when this one from 1978 suddenly says the complete opposite.

I really don’t want to start sounding like one of those loony conspiracy theorists, but I can’t help it… I need to see evidence of global warming globally and right now I simply don’t see it.

Of course, there are plenty of scientists saying this and that… But while you have some scientists saying the Arctic is shrinking you also have others saying the Antarctic is growing… Even if the earth actually is warming, how do we actually know that this isn’t the normal process of our earth? The history we see in our earth, such as the salt flats in Utah, show us that the earth changes massively from time to time… If the earth is getting warmer, why are there so many contradictory statements from scientists? Why couldn’t this be just a normal consequence of life on earth? Why is it so bloody freezing outside?

We had a big heat wave here in December/early January and of course the buzz was that it was global warming. Heat waves never happened before of course.

Now it’s freaking ultra-cold and I guess that it’s time to dust off that “Ice Age Is Coming” theory.

I heard that global warming was going to cause lots more snow to fall. We have about a meter less snow on the ground than usual here in Ottawa.

Bottom line is that few if any people know what they’re talking about. Remember the Y2k panic the “experts” were tossing about?

Yeah I do, at the time I thought it was a way for people to make money so I wasn’t too bothered by it… If it happened to me, it was going to happen to everyone else, too.

Remember the software that was meant to check whether your system was Y2K safe? If the Y2K thing would be that easily fought off, why would there have been any panic? I really hope nobody bought that software back then…

They had snow in Arizona and Nevada recently and up in the Midwest it’s now pretty darned cold, two weeks ago the Midwest was unusually warm… One thing is for certain, things like weather are “unusual” these days…

But do we really know what “usual” is? We seem to be stuck in thinking that if something changed in the last 100 years it’s a big issue… If we look back in time properly, the earth has changed a lot more than it has in the last 100 years, sometimes overnight.
