“Understanding” Homelessness
I have been homeless, when I lived in Northern Ireland. It is at this time of year, when it’s cold, that people who are homeless feel it the most. It’s also the time of year that everyone who has their own home “cares”.
But why is it, that people who have a home choose to sleep rough to “experience” it? Why is it, that they choose to leave their fully functional and warm home empty, to sleep rough?
I personally think it’s an utter waste of time because when you get “bored” of being homeless, when you have done your “stint”, you can call an end to your homelessness.
If you want to experience what it feels like to be homeless, let me know, while you’re out sleeping rough I’ll send a demolition crew to knock your house down - only then will you experience what it is like to only own what you can carry, to not have anywhere warm to return to.
