IRA Activity
Well I think that this report is possibly the biggest bunch of rubbish I have ever heard. Have any of those writing these reports opened their eyes?
I lived there for three years, the IRA are behind a lot of crimes out there, the IRA still recruit members (including some of my friends) and they’re still active - just in different ways.
The major thing for me though? They seem to have forgotten about the loyalist paramilitaries, who from my experience, were far more brutal, far more aggressive and did far more damage. I was even threatened 3 times for being a Catholic (which was confusing, I am an Atheist from a Church of England background), called names, had big rocks thrown at me - simply because I felt safe enough to walk through and out of the other side of the Short Strand in Belfast. Once I came out of the other side onto the Loyalist Newtownards Road - that’s when I felt in danger.
There’s no way things should be moving forward in Northern Ireland, not until everyone moves forward anyway. The IRA have made some changes, of course, but nobody else has!
