Surprise! Pigs Heads!

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

Imagine you’re driving along, you round a bend and suddenly see two tonnes of pigs heads rolling down the road infront of you. That happened to people recently.

What Disgusting Action…

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

I often have to explain to people in other parts of the world that the UK isn’t all castle’s, bowler hats and friendly stuttering Englishmen…

This news report now does that for me, it illustrates an alarming trend in the UK where young children (yes, that’s what they still are) are capable of performing disgusting acts on fellow human beings. For them to be capable of killing a woman, to rob her, while she is holding a baby, at a Christening? Unbelievable…

Happy Halloween!

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

Halloween Costume Here’s a shot of my costume, which I also wore to a wedding (where this photo was taken). It’s not a good shot, because the head of the donkey faces the opposite direction, but you get the idea… My head is coming out of a Donkey’s ass, so, I’m a jackass. The other guy there, Billy, was dressed as a Ballerina.

Zanardi to ride again…

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

Alex, or Alessandro Zanardi as I always knew him, will again drive a Formula One car. BMW, who Zanardi runs with using a modified car in the WTCC, have built a modified car for him to test. For those of you who don’t know, Zanardi lost both his legs in an accident 5 years ago, but has continued to fight both on and off racetracks around the world.

“Of course, I know that I won’t get a contract with the Formula One team,” the 40-year-old Zanardi said. “However, having the chance to drive an F1 racer again is just incredible.”

“With an unprecedented show of will and dedication, he fought his way back into motor racing and now proves in the WTCC that is able to win races at the highest level,” BMW Motorsports director Mario Theissen said.

Worried about North Korea?

Monday, October 30th, 2006

North Korea don’t have the ability to make a Nuclear Weapon that would destroy an entire city. Today is the anniversary of the detonation of the world’s biggest bomb - Tsar Bomba.

You can read about this 50 megatons blast here and watch a clip from a Discovery Channel documentary here.

iRacing.com Success

Monday, October 30th, 2006

The company I work for sponsored a couple of race cars in the SCCA Runoffs earlier this month. The cars started from first and second place on the grid and while one cruised to a win for the company, the other had a flat tyre while running in second place, falling down the field. We were all obviously delighted to have taken part.

Body Language anyone?

Monday, October 30th, 2006

You know, I have great respect for Robby Gordon. I don’t think he’s as good a driver as most people do - but I respect the guy. On Sunday though, he may have done something pretty stupid, his body language doesn’t seem to fit with the words coming out of his mouth

For sure, if you look at the video, it doesn’t really show him throwing it out of the car, it could quite easily be that it came loose - then maybe blew out?

In any case, if he did throw an object out of the car, that object will have been travelling at close to 190mph if Robby was at full speed and although it’s a bit of foam - he’d really have no idea where that thing was going to end up. To me, that’s a bit risky…

Good for Montoya!

Monday, October 30th, 2006

Juan-Pablo Montoya did a great job on Saturday in the NASCAR Busch race at memphis. Not only did he drive his way through the field after another car tapped him into a spin, he also took responsibility for what caused the spin (him entering a turn slower and pulling down on the other car). For a guy who has only run two NASCAR style events, grabbing a third and an eleventh place finish, I have to say I am pretty impressed.

Saudi Arabia under “terrorist threat”…

Friday, October 27th, 2006

A Saudi Oil terminal has been linked with a terrorist threat - and it’s British forces who have been despatched to counter it. You know, it’s funny… If we just sat back and let it happen, then I think politically that would be better for us, as the terrorist’s would then be attacking an Islamic state. With us there, we’re mixed into it and that’s simply not going to help us in any way, Saudi citizen’s will see us where we shouldn’t be, and the terrorists have a different target they can aim at; the British.

Long shot… Anyone have my gpl replays?

Friday, October 27th, 2006

Obviously I have pretty fond memories of my time with GPL, but unfortunately as time went long I didn’t save my replays like I should have.

I have the ones from my second season in IGPS, also I have the three that JimmiBo posted on his Web site.

I am especially keen to get my hands on a replay of Markus “Maaki” Stiepel and I racing at Spa in Brabham’s.

Anyone have any?
