The UK’s Advertising Standards Authority bans the broadcast of adverts for San Andreas until after the watershed…
It has been announced today by the UK’s Advertising Standards Authority that adverts for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas have been prohibited to be broadcast before the 9pm watershed, following a couple of complaints made by the public after the ad had been shown during a commercial break for Channel 4′s Scrapheap Challenge.
In a statement, the ASA said, “We could understand the parents’ concerns that it was inappropriate for young children to see this level of violence in advertising for a product which was only available to adults…The advertising was shown in breaks around programmes which, although not designed specifically for children, were considered to be acceptable family viewing.”
