BT Internet

An exact transcript of an email from their support staff: Unfortunately, we are currently experiencing difficulties with one of our IP ranges. This is 62.7.x.x Receiving this IP can presently result in slow / no throughput. At this moment I would certainly suggest disconnecting if allocated this IP range and re-connecting until another range is assigned. I can only apologise for this inconvenience and also ask for your assistance. With regards to difficulties sending and receiving emails, it has been noticed that if you are assigned a 62. 7. x. x IP address, you may experience delays from the SMTP server. We hope to have the issue resolved shortly. - - - They’ve been having ‘difficulties’ every day they’ve been in operation… Anyone know a good ISP in the UK? One that doesn’t **** on your cornflakes? If so please send me a pm in the forums, or post in the general chat in the forums, or even email me (use timwheatley.co.uk, as btinternet.com sometimes doesn’t work).

Mario’s Thoughts on Indy F1…

Wednesday, September 20th, 2000

“It’s a circuit that keeps your attention and, believe it or not, it’s got a good rhythm,” Andretti told the Indianapolis Star. “You’re always thinking of the next corner so it’s a good thinking driver’s course.” “They will have maximum revs coming off turn 11 and I’m sure they’ll be using seven gears, and I think they’ll be running 220 mph at the end of the front straightaway,” Andretti said. “They’ll be in seventh gear from the short chute (in turn two) until they start braking for turn one. You don’t take a turn like that lightly. It’s not going to be a piece of cake to set up for, in my opinion, and it will be interesting to see how the grooved tires handle a constant radius, high-speed corner.” “The place that really invites passing will be Turn 1.” “There will be a lot of slipstreaming there, so there will be a lot of action. On the infield straight, you’re accelerating all the time so I don’t think there will be any out-braking at the end of that straight. You’ve got to reach terminal speed to be able to pass and there may only be one place to do that.” - Mario Andretti.

I may be gone for “some time”

Well Windows Millennium is here, and after all I’ve read I’m still not put off, so I’m going to defragment my hard disk tonight while I’m asleep, and as I have a day off tomorrow I’ll format and start afresh with WinMe. Reports are that it’s a lot less buggy than previous versions, runs games just as good as Win98, but crashes less. Which is what I need… While I’m gone (if it all goes right I won’t be gone long!) Matt Phelps is in charge! ;)
